Miss Goody Two Shoes ( poem from "And The Child Grew Up" by Donna Nieri )

They think I am Miss Goody
two shoes!

Always content, not having
laments.

I am only human, I have
desires too.

Maybe I should shed my goody
shoes and put on my dancing
shoes.

I need to be held and touched
just as much as you. With
all I do, couldn't you tell
me you love me too?

Oh, with these hidden desires,
try to look inside of me, and
not judge the way I appear.

Tell me you care and love me,

dare look behind this facade.
Give me an accepting nod.

Put on your dancing shoes.
Come dance away the blues!
