Stand Strong ( poem from "Bottles of Tears" by Donna Nieri )

When I cross the river Jordan,
when the waters stand on edge,

When the seas split in two,
and I'm not sure which way
to go,

When the hills become a
mountain and I cannot pass,

When I flounder with no
direction,

when I plunge into the waters,
not dipping first my feet,

When my sorrows overwhelm me,

when a father I can not find,
a mother who has forsaken me,

I will remember I have
been adopted, it is free,

the price has been paid upon
a tree.

Though the stars in heaven are
shaken, the day darkens,
and the moon gives not
her light,

Though the whole creation groans
with labor pains, waiting for
deliverance,

I will not complain,
for nothing shall separate us
from the love so graciously
given.
